"Women and...

... Cars"

Supposedly this was filmed at a service station... a young lady was adding oil to her auto's engine...
I suppose she could have been...

I've seen stranger things...

Bless her heart...

This reminds me of something that happened
in the faculty parking lot one afternoon here at
Alluvial Flood Plain State University...

A young lady was having car trouble...

evidently, the battery had died and the car wouldn't start.

She asked of me...

"Can you help me jack my car off??"

...

...

...

...

...

... real politely,

... real delicately,

I told her that the phrase was...

"Jump my car off...

Help me jump my car off..."

Bless her heart...

"Cars..."

Hi there...

 long time, no see...

I've just been trying to get health issues, career issues,
and Life issues in order...

Some huge changes could be coming up soon...

The next few months could be interesting...

or not...

Anyway... I've been on a car kick here lately..

Not that I am going to buy one or anything,
but just coming across some neat photos of vehicles...

I never in a million years thought I would
ever be posting THIS song in a blog post...

... anyway...

A colleague and I have often talked about buying Air Stream trailers... hooking them to our vehicles... and start something akin to a Traveling Salvation Show... only it woudl be about economics...

If you don't know what an AirStream trailer is...

Pretty Fukken Cool...
No??

In our business plan, we would travel from university to university... offering classes... Hell... who knows, maybe it would even become a reality show...

How scary would that be??

But... recently... I came across this image...

(get your minds out of the gutter... I didn't mean THAT way...)

How Cool is this?!?!?!?!?!

I like the front of it even better!!!

It definitely has that 'Art Deco' look going for it...

This would really rock for those Road Show Econ Programs!!!

... and then I found THIS!!!!!!

I guess everyone may need a second car...

No?

Once I saw this image, I had a flashback to my Hippy Days...

... and a sound track started to emerge.

I could see myself driving around in this thing listening to...

THIS immediately came to mind!!!

... and I'm not a Grateful Dead fan...

... and then THIS one popped in my head...

Who would have ever guessed that
I was a closet 'Grateful Dead' fan?!?!?!

Anyway... it's good to have a diversion while a great deal of other crap is going on in ones Life...

All in All...

I'm going to be ok...

Tell me what is happening in your world?
(In the mean time, I need to visit some blogs...

"Happy Fukken...

Valentine's Day...

It's that time of year again...

That causes all kinds of emotional angst...

It tears holes in the bottom of your stomach...

No, it's not April 15th yet...

It's that Day Of Love...

Shot through the heart...
And you're to blame.
Darling, you give love a bad name..

There have been so many songs written in the name of Love...

This is one of my favorites...

Al Green is the shiznits....
(or is that shiznitz?)

Of course, in the spirit of equal time...

I should present a song from the other perspective...

Therefore I give you...

'She Fucking Hates Me...'

I've heard of trouser snakes...
... and one-eyes lizards...
but...

... another deal breaker...

Happy Valentine's Day...

"Fifty Shades Of..."

Shoes...

The movie... based on this best seller...
is set to open this Saturday, on

Valentines Day...

... apparently, nothing quite says LOVE like
butt plugs, nipple clamps and bondage.

So... here is my contribution to the 'Fifty Shades' mania...

For most recent 'Fifty Shades news,
as it relates to my home state, click

HERE...

For some reason, I am reminded of a comment that was
made during an episode of 'Boston Legal' some years ago...

Denny Crane tells Alan Shore about a woman in his life...
and he says...

"Alan... Bev is the woman I've always dreamed of:
an angel in the bedroom and a whore in the kitchen."

Alan... somewhat surprised asked Denny...

"Don't you have that backwards?"

to which Denny replied...

"not last night..."

This beats the Hell out of 'an apple a day 'concept...

just sayin'...

I wonder if this is anything like Indian Wrestling...???

... or hands-on?

Talk about discrimination...

This reminds me of the 'slippery when wet' thing...

I wonder if skeletons get boners???

AC/DC...?

I wonder if she tingles when he's plugged in??

I would imagine it has nothing to do with tears...

Do you?

So much for true love...

"Dearly Beloved..."

"... we are gathered here...."

Have you ever heard of the word,

Taphophile?

It is a term that applies to someone who has a passion for and an enjoyment of cemeteries...  it appears that almost everything has a word for it...  I must be a 'taphophile'...  I love going through cemeteries... the older the better.  I really like looking at old tombstones...

What would a ~shoes~ post be without a music video?

Here is my mostest favoritest tombstone song...

Embedding is disabled for it so you have to click...

HERE...

Please do... it's a great song...

Anyway...

I found this interesting photo of

the headstone of

'Bernard P. Hopkins'

Someone must have loved him... this headstone was installed...

However...

Someone also installed this one below it...

... and it appears to have been there for sometime.

A long time...

Could you do something like this to a family member?

Would you do something like this to a family member??

I have heard of funerals for people where no one was sad...

No tears were shed...

I have become a firm believer of what this image above says...

We can fall prey to words...

... but if we just watch them...

We learn everything we need to know.

I would like to know, though,

if you could or would do something like
this to a deceased family member's grave.

"I Don't Need No..." (One More Time...)

Steenkin' New Year's Resolutions...

Happy New Year to all of you...

I can't believe that

2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006
2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013

2014

is gone.

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'...

Into the future...

What is it about the past that we each remember so?

Are the memories of good and wonderful things?

... or do we remain haunted by what went amiss?

... things that just didn't turn out the way we wanted?

Is there some form of 'Pre-destination'
that we follow through Life???

Or, are our Lives and our ultimate ends/destinations
more determined by Karma??

Are the events that we experience directly related
to how we have lived our lives and treated others?

Is there really a difference between the two?

I wonder why I selected 'Calvin and Hobbes'cartoons for a post that asks rather serious questions?

What makes a good cartoon be a 'good cartoon?'

I always have enjoyed the messages from comic strips like 'Calvin and Hobbes,' or 'The Far Side'...  Some of the creators of such strips have such a wonderful insight into the  psyches of our souls, it seems. They seem to capture those fleeting moments and thoughts that we have all experienced...

A counselor that I was seeing after the death of my Dad and during my divorce suggested that I hide a great deal of hurt and pain behind humor... I do suppose that there is a great deal of truth to such a statement.

I fear that my direction has been determined

by the method indicated in the cartoon above...

... that I have just let things happen and I've drifted along with the flow.

Like clouds in the sky...

Like a limb in the river...

Like a fart in a whirl wind...

In 2015, I would like to be more direct in what I desire for the rest of my Life.

I will be more pro-active.

I need to get out and see my friends...

I will take some of my own  advice that I talked about at the
commencement address I gave in December, 2012...
__________

2014 was a great deal like the beginning of the 'Tale of Two Cities'...

"It was the best of times... it was the worst of times..."

My friend, Scooter died...

I made a trip out West to scatter his ashes as per his request.

I didn't have a choice... he was my friend.

In April of 2014, I received the
College of Business 'Bell South' Award for being the
Outstanding Professor in the College of Business.

In November of 2014, I was told by the same people that
congratulated me for receiving the teaching award...

that I was no longer needed.

In the next few months, I will decide what
changes I am going to allow to happen in my life career-wise.

I did NOT like...

I did NOT appreciate...

the manner in which this was handled by the administration.

Having said that, I am going to be pro-active on when I leave.

It is possible that I could be teaching at

a different university in the Fall...

I would be open to that.

I have had health issues.

It's not like I haven't seen them coming,

I hadn't felt well for some time.

I've had conflicting diagnoses...

I have finally crossed paths with a doctor with whom

I have great confidence.  We will see what progresses.

There are going to be some great changes in my Life over the next 12 months.

In so many ways...

In so many areas...

So...

What are your goals, desires, aims for

the upcoming

2015?

I love these guys...

Happy New Year!!!
