or...
"Poor Lil Bastiges..."
I think this about sums it up quite nicely...
The 'begging,' 'bitching,' 'kavetching,' began in earnest last week...
I understand that this approach
still happens from time to time...
Spelling ability is still weak at the university level...
However, I guess it can prepare you for writing pornography...
I had a colleague who was swayed
by this kind of attention...
The girls knew it...
and they worked it.
I never have been able to pull this look off...
I probably don't have the legs for it.
I guess it's only ok in literature and in music...
Bless their hearts...
Meanwhile, my commencement
address is coming along nicely...
I've been told a few times just to
imagine the audience naked...
I'm thinking that if I thought of
this gal up abovebeing naked,
I'd have all kinds of system malfunctions...

I think you can pull off that outfit with the right kind of heels. Baaaahaaaaa
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I dunno, Liz... I don't think I can...

I was thinking you could wear a college t shirt and a thong. If you wear it backward, I'm sure it would be sensational. Or a sensation. Or something.
ReplyDeleteMy son said the grammatical errors, the lack of work ethic and the general, all-around stupid in college people his age embarrasses him.
Guilt by association, I guess.
LMBO @ wearing a thong... that is SO something I wouldn't do!!!
DeleteYour son is right!!
Happy Birthday to you!!

- - - but do they feel good about themselves?
ReplyDeleteHey you.... No, I don't think that they do. I am not sure that they are aware enough to feel good about themselves.
DeleteThey do have an extremely high sense of entitlement.

oh isn't true? I wold never be able to exchange anything for a good grade, unless learning was the trade off. I LOVE the "double negative."
ReplyDeleteHi there, Ana... I am enjoying reading about your trip! It looks and sounds like you all had a great time.

I can't get beyond my need to feed this buxom blonde.
ReplyDeleteDamn, Monkey Girl... I thought you said 'FEEL"... I got all excited over nothing!!
DeleteHA!!!
How are you doing??

You can lead a horticulture, but you can't make her think.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA!!!
DeleteYour word play is magnificent, Steven!!!

The picture with the teacher wearing the garters reminds me of Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher" song.
ReplyDeleteA few years ago my sister gave her students a quiz. One poor kid didn't know the answer so he wrote in the blank space: "i don't know the answer but i think you are a great teacher." Quite a creative answer for a 7 year old I thought!
Hey, Princess... the answer the student gave your sister, hopefully, was heartfelt. It would be sad if seven year olds already knew about fleecing adults...
DeleteRe: the teacher in garters, yeah, it reminded me of that same video.
For the record, I never had teachers like that.

Way back in the day I had to choose a major. Yes, we are talking when I was in college. Out of desperation, I chose English. That is actually a long story which I am not going to get into now. My friends all said things like, "What in the world are you going to do with that? You should get an education degree with it." My response always was, "But I don't WANT to teach." And I didn't. Never did. And I didn't see how my English major was any more useful or wasteful than a History major without an education major beside or behind it. Whatever. The point, at the time, was just getting a degree. After that, you could figure out what you wanted to do... lol. And I turned out to be right about that. If you are smart and teachable, you can learn anything. If you aren't... well it doesn't really matter what degree you have, or don't have.
ReplyDeleteI read over this post and all I could think was, "I am so glad that I listened to that voice that said 'you do not want to teach' and ignored all of those people/friends who tried so hard to push me into getting that Education degree." There will always be people who will tell you that you will fail if you don't follow the beaten path, the well worn road, but I say to heed your own counsel. At the end of the day (your life), YOU must live with the choices, and you sure don't want to know that you chose a career that you didn't even like because your FRIENDS ::PICKED:: it. Egads.
As for those people who can't get by on their own merit in college... they are in for one heck of a surprise in life. It doesn't grade on the curve. And a B- (if it is actually a C- or worse) doesn't feed your family or pay for diapers. Here comes the cold water...
Yeah, I am all sunshine and rainbows today.
Hi there, Robin... I would think that I would hate teaching in K-12 schools, either public or private. The amount of record keeping and control that is placed on those teachers is totally unbelievable.
DeleteSometimes following that beaten path to which you refer takes one to the same boring places. The detours, on other hand, can help us discover some wonder things!
I hope all is well with you...

Mmm--
ReplyDeleteMandisa's feature TobyMac "Good Morning" always starts my day off so I can start new and fresh without any cares for that particular day.
Learning to "live in the moment".
"Stormy"Dawn and Buttons
I would think that starting each day off with out a particular care would not be such a bad thing... no?

Since I teach college, this is one of my favorite posts of all time. I am so tired of students complaining that they have no dickshunaries.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you teach? There in St. Augustine??
DeleteI had a student tell me the other day that maybe he SHOULD have purchased a text book for his class...
Ssshhheeessshhh...

Hmmmm. I wonder if this concept can also be applied in the work place. I really need a raise.... And well... If I have to give one to get one, that's just the kind of sacrifice I'm willing to make!
ReplyDeleteLMBO @ you giving a raise in order to get one (if I interpreted that correctly!!!)
DeleteYou strike me as someone who would be all about sacrifices!!!

I've got two more weeks coming up, Shoes. So far none of the begging has been original.
ReplyDeleteLMBO @ Grumpy!!!
ReplyDelete'... none of the begging has been original.'
I SO love that!!
These students today are something!!!
