The storm front that caused over 16 tornadoes in Oklahoma yesterday is creeping into my neck of the woods this afternoon...
I need to go to Walmart and buy some new kites... it oughta be fun...
I love a good thunderstorm... the only thing I can think of that is better is thunderstorm sex...
That reminds me... I need to write about the time I got struck by lightning...

Something happened that caused me to start thinking about ruses... scams... making one believe one thing when really something else is going on...
An example that came to mind was the 'Trojan Horse'... when the Greeks couldn't penetrate the walls of Troy... well... you know the story... and how the Greeks came to be there...
I wonder why Trojan condoms don't look like a Trojan horse?
Then there is the ruse that takes place through internet dating...
That got me to thinking about other applications...
I recall the British Invasion... when the BeaTles came to the States... and then The Rolling Stones... and then The Animals... and then The Kinks... and the list goes on and on...
On of the less popular bands of that era was a band called The Beau Brummels...
One of their better songs was 'Laugh Laugh'...
The only problem was that The Beau Brummels were from San Francisco... they were American... not British... They felt that they would have a better chance at success if they appeared to be English...
They weren't the only ones...
There was a group called 'The Sir Douglas Quintet'...
... only... they weren't British either... They were from around the San Antonio / Austin, Texas area...
Doug Sahm... along with Freddy Fender and Augie Meyers... were members of The Texas Tornadoes... it's amazing... that as unknown as Doug Sahm was, he was a driving force in a great deal of the music industry...
By positioning themselves as British acts, they drew attention to American bands.
Damn, Doug... you were among the best...

One of my to-do things is to have sex under the rain/thunderstorm. Maybe one day... a girl can hope :)

ReplyDeleteSex in the rain. Hmmm. Once I wrote a story about this woman who ran away in her mini-van and spent the night with a stranger she met outside a mini mart. It was hot and included an outdoor shower and clean sheets. I mean of course she had brought clean sheets. After all she was not a barbarian!
