I do believe those that we love come back to see us... probably when we are most receptive of their visits... which probably happens to be when we are sleeping...
That reminded me of a dream about my Dad that I posted about here...
I had always had a good relationship with my Mother-in-Law until the wheels came off of our marriage... after my soon-to-be-ex filed for divorce, my M-I-L never spoke to me again.... a few months after she died, she came to see me... and had a short sweet message for me... all she said to me was... "I am so sorry for how I treated you..." but she didn't have to tell me that... I knew her...
I remember another dream I had some time after my Dad died... I found mention of it in my journal that I was reading yesterday... I mentioned in my post yesterday about telling Dad that Mom was at home waiting for him...
Well... we were having a "going away" party for Mom and Dad... it was being held at their house... we always parked in the drive way and entered through a kitchen door that was in the garage... the entrance took you into the kitchen... and then if you went to the right you would find a door that would take you into the living room...
When I went into the kitchen from the garage, I saw the kitchen table... and the chair where Mom ALWAYS would hang her sweater and purse... and they both were both on the chair... just where they were supposed to be!!!
And I could hear Mom laughing about something... and I was so excited to see her... and just before I made the turn into the living room... I woke up... and didn't get to see her... and her beautiful smile... *sighs*

My father came to me in a dream shortly after he died. It actually gave me great comfort.
ReplyDeleteI think dreams offer a mental rest sometimes! When I was going through my heartbreaking divorce, I kept having the dream of my ex coming back and telling me he changed his mind and that he still loved me, then I'd wake up! My friend finally said, "I think your mind is just giving your broken heart a rest while you sleep!" I think she was right!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting, commenting and following my blog! So glad you found me, now I can follow you, too! Cheers!
Sorry I stopped by a little late. Thanks for mentioning my post.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful dreams you had.
California Dreamin' is another favorite of ours in our family.
I really do think we're most receptive to visits while we're sleeping.
