Nine years ago this morning, I woke up... ate breakfast... and went to Alluvial Flood Plain State University to hold my classes... I must have turned off the television set and the news just about the time the first plane hit...
By the time I got out of my first class, and was preparing to go to my second class, the secretaries were talking about the plane having hit the tower... and before I got to class, news of the second plane came in...
And at the time I finished my second class of the morning, the buildings had collapsed...
We must never forget that there are people in this world that do NOT like the United States... whether we are Republican or Democrat... The current president believes that we can talk and rationalize... reason... with these kinds of people. The truth is that we can't.
I will never forget the footage on television of Palestinians celebrating in the streets about the attacks on NYC and our country...
God Bless those who died on that day... and their families...
... and never forget that the people who planned, organized, and did this will do it again.

ReplyDeletePlease check out the video I posted today on my page.
Love you honey,
Christine
I have no doubt that there is a plan in progress even as we go about our lives right this minute.
ReplyDeleteI remember that day like it was yesterday. A sad day in history.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Shoesies !
ReplyDeleteI was also on campus the day of the attacks. I was in my dorm, and my roommate's boyfriend called and told us to turn on the TV. I won't forget that day and the week that followed.
For a little while after we as a nation came together as one and forgot about all the petty political fights we were having. I wish we could go back to that.
You/me/us...we must never forget. their are extremist out there that do hate American and all it stands for and her citizens. That doesn't give us a pass to turn to hatred. We need to protect and love our country with dignity. That seems to be the hard/difficult part of the challenge. Loved your post and the note you wrote to me. I love the Boss!
ReplyDeleteThank you for a beautiful, heart-rending post.
ReplyDeleteNo, we should never, ever forget.
