Perfectly Good Guitar

One of my most favorite song writers (depending on what I've been drinking the mood I'm in) is John Hiatt... he is a Nashville song writer that is considered to be a musician's musician... the man can flat out write...  I enjoy learning his songs because he puts neat little 'hooks' in the chord progressions...

You probably haven't heard of him, but I will bet you know some of his songs...

"Thing Called Love" recorded by Bonnie Raitt... "Riding With The King" recorded by B.B. King and Eric Clapton... "Angel Eyes" recorded by Jeff Healey...

I tried to find a quality video of his song, "Perfectly Good Guitar" since the guitar beat Laura won out in a very informal poll... but I just couldn't find one...  The guy playing slide guitar in this video is Sonny Landreth... he is a mad man...  I love musicians that play with a great passion... a great love for what they do... We should strive to take that kind of emotion to all facets of our lives...

  3. Oh how I love to hear the guitar! I used to date a guy that played a Taylor and would write beautiful music...some about me...even then I was famous in my mind!! Music feeds the soul and sometimes when I am home I listen to music and dance the night away...

  4. Good afternoon...

    * Tee... he's good.. really good... he, Ry Cooder, Jim Keltner, and Nick Lowe did a project a few years ago called 'Little Village'... as far as I can remember, they only made one album, but it was killer...

    * JenJen... guitars ALWAYS win... I think I've discovered that I've bought a guitar every time a relationship has ended... you do NOT want to know how many guitars I have...

    * Just... Taylors are great guitars! They've worked themselves right in there with Martins and other high-end instruments... I would think it's easy to write beautiful music about a beautiful woman.. no? ;o)
