"Sensitivity Training..."

Or...

KISS MY ASS!!!!

A friend of mine at work has told me that she thinks I need sensitivity training... that I can be a bit gruff and crude from time to time.

Of course, I immediately called 'bullshit' on that!!!

I researched the issue and found a manual on sensitivity-speak... somewhat of a code book for saying something else that has yet another meaning.

There is one chapter titled, "Try Saying"... and it has suggested comments that might allow for properr exchange of ideas and information can continue in an effective manner.

Some of these sayings include:

TRY SAYING: Perhaps I can work late.
INSTEAD OF: And when the fuck do you expect me to do this?

TRY SAYING: I'm certain that isn't feasible.
INSTEAD OF: No fucking way.

TRY SAYING: Really?
INSTEAD OF: You've got to be shitting me!

TRY SAYING: Perhaps you should check with...
INSTEAD OF: Tell someone who gives a shit.

TRY SAYING: I wasn't involved in the project.
INSTEAD OF: It's not my fucking problem.

TRY SAYING: That's interesting.
INSTEAD OF: What the fuck?

TRY SAYING: I'm not sure this can be implemented.
INSTEAD OF: This shit won't work.

TRY SAYING: I'll try to schedule that.
INSTEAD OF: Why the hell didn't you tell me sooner?

TRY SAYING: He's not familiar with the issues.
INSTEAD OF: He's got his head up his ass.

TRY SAYING: Excuse me, sir?
INSTEAD OF: Eat shit and die.

TRY SAYING: So you weren't happy with it?
INSTEAD OF: Kiss my ass.

TRY SAYING: I'm a bit overloaded at the moment.
INSTEAD OF: fuck it, I'm going to Guadalajara for a margarita.

TRY SAYING: I don't think you understand.
INSTEAD OF: Shove it up your ass.

TRY SAYING: I love a challenge.
INSTEAD OF: This job sucks.

TRY SAYING: You want me to take care of that?
INSTEAD OF: Who the hell died and made you boss?

TRY SAYING: I see.
INSTEAD OF: Blow me.

TRY SAYING: He's somewhat insensitive.
INSTEAD OF: He's a fucking prick.

TRY SAYING: I think you could use more training.
INSTEAD OF: You don't know what the fuck you're doing.

think this approach would work... don't you??

I dont think I am THAT bad...

But maybe I am...

  1. Over the years I've been to quite a few sensitivity Training seminars and every time I came away with the feeling that these seminars were arranged by management as a smokescreen for their own actions. But I did enjoy more than a few laughs here. Thanks.

  6. It seems the ones who suggest 'sensitivity training' are in la-la land, or are just afraid of hearing the truth let alone dealing with it....All of those 'instead ofs' comments have run thru my brain as well!. :-)

That's my observation... that the ones that are recommending that we go through sensitivity training are actually subjecting us to some kind of brainwashing...

  7. I'd like to think you are training your disciples to cope with a world full of people that don't give a *hit about them! The sooner they learn the sooner they can cope!

You should be held up as a saint! :)

Sensitivity training is a lot like Learning to Speak PC. I am against both.

  9. "Bullshit"--my favorite word/saying.

I've said it myself a few times.

I find that one needs to sometimes "clarify" what others are saying.

Men and women do think differently. We all know that--

The thing is to find a "happy" middle of the road. But it takes two to go down that road.

I guess it depends on what she meant by that u were gruff and crude. I mean if they were jokes that she didn' t like that would be totally different than having some type of conversation. And might u be feeling bad/sick when she says u were gruff and crude.

I don't know I think I would clarify what she meant--not for her sake but for your sake to see possibly if u are giving off one meaning but totally meaning something else.

I've had this type of discussion recently with a coworker whom I was going to date. Bottomline is he states he is the DOM. Need I say more. There will be no discussion about anything. Well, u probably have figured out by now I don't take "orders" too well. So that relationship was doomed from the start. My preference is a little give and take on both parties sides but one must clarify if there is something that doesn't seem quite right.

Working with 50 plus men I have learned--do not disturb them on the job, make sure they have eaten lunch, boys will be boys when it comes to playing/joking/if u give them a chance they love to "rescue/help" you. I'm learning to ask for help lately with the little things.

It would not hurt to explore what she meant by what she said. I'm not saying she is right all I am saying is that I would question her about what exactly did she mean.

The pup is in surgery now. I have a good vet so I feel quite good about the outcome of this--

Hope ur cold/virus is better today.

  11. Sensitivity Training!? I would have told her, "I've got your sensitivity training hangin'!" Well, no, I take that back, I wouldn't have... I don't have the balls. But you could have!

    1. Hi Steven...

I think that there is a fine line between not having the balls to do something... or just not caring... if you know what I mean...

How are things in your world??

I went to Al Anon for a bit... it helped me because I was allowing myself to take the blame for the abuser in my family. I did need to let it go... but I also understand that there isn't a uniform way of handing our Life Problems...

I hope all is well for you!

  17. Oh my God, I cannot stop laughing at this one:

"F*ck it, I'm going to Guadalajara for a margarita."

-it's hard sometimes having to hold in what you truly want to say but sometimes there are just those individuals who ask/say such stupid things/comments that they deserve nothing but a sarcastic reply.

After your sensitivity training could a new type of Red Shoes emerge? Hmm, for some reason I can't picture you wearing love beads and singing Kumbaya.

I can't imagine myself in love beads or singing Kumbaya either, dear... LMBO!!!!
