"Flying..."

Well...


It's Time...

I'm setting off on Red Shoe's Mystery Tour...


'Magical Mystery Tour'


I will get to go places and see things that I've only imagined doing...

I will be in the same city (Frankfurt, Germany) where my great great grandfather, Balthazar Ohl, lived back in 1825... and where a great (squared- to-some-power) grandmother, Marie Katrina Wimmer, lived back in the late 1600s.  There are old family names like Vogt, Roosa, amd Krom as well.

In a sense, it will be like a homecoming...

I am going to be doing a GREAT deal of flying today...

My FAVORITE BeaTle Instrumental...
(because as far as I know, it's their only one)


I do have the tendency from time to time of screwing things up...


I just hope this trip doesn't become a version of ...




A big o' pair of those WHITE shoes would be cool, I think!!

    There is something inherently wrong with seeing the sun set at 7.15 BT (your body time)(somewhat normal time)and then seeing it rise again at 11.00 BT...

    I arrived in Frankfurt at 8.25AM local time (1.25 BT), and I am seriously sleep deprived... It's now 3.34BT/10.34 Frankfurt time... I won't have a room for at least 3 1/2 hours and I'm making no sense...

    Blah...

    PS: I'm playing Hell finding many English speaking Germans... LMBO...

      Hey, Annie... I'm trying... this body just wasn't cut out for that much flying and loss-of-sleep...but I am going to embrace each and every day here. It really is quite remarkable, I think.

      I look forward to working with the students... ;o)

      BTW... you aren't a 'herr'... maybe a 'her,' but not a 'herr'...

      You would be a 'frau' or a 'frauline,' I'm thinking...

    I have yet to get caught up on my sleep... I tossed nd turned all night, and now that it's time to get my day started here in Frankfurt (7.12 AM FT), I feel cast iron eye lids coming on... I've been rather under the weather here the past two days... I'm hoping the 2 1/2 hour train ride to Aachen that I am facing later today will prime me for much needed sleep.

    I saw some wonderful things yesterday, and took some photos... if time permits later, I will do a 'Frankfurt Post'...

    I take it you've researched your family tree? It's something I've always wanted to do, but I've always found the thought of it a little daunting!
