It's not that I am really Anti-Valentine's Day...
Sometimes, I just like being difficult...
Imagine that...
I guess it's kinda like being a 'contrarian' in the stock market... just taking an opposing position as to what everyone else is doing...

I've never been good at relationships... I think I am a nice guy and all of that, but for some reason, they just haven't ever worked... lasted.
Of course, nothing last forever...
I'm sure that it doesn't help any that on Valentine's Day, back in 1996, my Dad suffered a stroke... and died 8 days later... If you have read any of my previous posts about this and the resulting train wreck that became the next year and a half of my Life, you know that I recognize this date as the onset of all of that mess.
... and on that note, when I was leaving work yesterday, my stalker was parked in the faculty parking lot... and drove off as I exited the building. Odds are she's been watching for some time... and I just have let down on my vigilance...
I have to be more aware of my surroundings...

ReplyDeleteI will never give up on love. I guess I just a gal that will "Pick myself up and dust myself off." Learn from that relationship what not to do or what to do in the next one.
Relationships of any kind friendship or romantic take work, patience, forgiveness, sacrifice at times.
I've been blessed I'm started out as friends with my past loves and even though it ended we still remained friends.
Stalker--my friend u will never get rid of her. Seriously, never. Although, I don't think she is dangerous more a nuisance. I think one day u need to seriously think of relocating maybe to Oxford or Memphis. U said u didn't want to live in New Orleans. So--anyway that chick is not ever gonna leave u alone. Whether u are nice or mean it doesn't matter.
We are dressing up "Valentine's Day" at the Coffeehouse tonight. We made Valentine's last night for the morning crew. We are suppose to wear red and pink of some sort. Well, I left my red apron in someone's car and will not see it for a few days. And I will be wearing purple today. Oh well--it will be fun.
U can either take some chances again or u can remain alone. The choice is urs my friend.
Personally, I like to say "let's give it one more shot." Who knows the next one might be the one whom steals ur heart away.

Will u just please go get a black mini schnauzer female and name her "Isabella Grace" and I will come pick her up when I pay my vet bill off and watch her when u have to go to out-of-town. U want to talk about the perfect companion--a pup. U are never lonely when u have a pup in ur home. We can share custody.

And I understand the Anti-Valentine's Day sentiments. My love life sucks which is why I have enjoyed the romantic movie clips so much. Even it is completely fictional, it is working out for someone somewhere. Makes me feel hopeful about the whole sorry mess.
I've never been a fan of 'Hallmark holidays' (Valentine's, Mother's,Father's Day).... Appreciation and love should not need a reminder or a prod from a company that will profit from it... The impromptu flowers/gifts I've always appreciated more than any commercial reminder... As far as your stalker, maybe u should put a sign somewhere that says ' aren't u bored stalking me?'... (just kidding about the sign)

I love that tie and your shoes! If nothing else, you'll be or you were (depends when you read this) the coolest dressed professor. I can understand being verklempt about this made up day in light of what happened to your father. But guess what? The day is already almost over! Happy Valentine's Day anyway, to you! :)
ReplyDeleteRegarding love and life... I married an amazing person and have spent my entire adult life making up for the sadness and anguish of the things that happened to me and around me before that. And I'm properly grateful. I know how rare and lovely what we have is.
ReplyDeleteThe stalker...I hope you've notified law enforcement. The person doesn't have to be a threat to file a report. Getting a paper trail going now may be helpful to you later if things escalate.
