There in Memphis~Town...
Did Elvis really cash
his chips all in...
With his pants pulled
completely down?!?!?!
Today, January 8, is the birthday of Elvis Aron Presley...
"Old Elvis"
Holy Crap!!!!!
What has happened to the Time Continuum?!?!?!
It's hard to believe that if the King were still kicking, that he
would be 78....
Is there any hope for any of us?!?!
Of course, my still all-time favorite movie clip from Elvis is...
Of course, what really shocks/scares/saddens me...
is that Andy Summers of 'The police' just turned 70...
WTF?!?!?!?!
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'...
into the future...
~shoes~
No way, Andy is 70! I knew the guy wasn't in his 40s, late 50s perhaps but he's 70? I'm speechless.
ReplyDeleteI love 'Viva Las Vegas' too and Ann-Margaret is just so cute in that film.
Princess, Andy IS 70!!!
ReplyDeleteWTF?!?!?!?!
Ann-Margaret was cute in that movie... it seems she really fell for Elvis during that filming, and they remained great friends.
She attended his funeral when he died.
I hope you are feeling better today!!
~shoes~
Ahh, only the good die young... Which largely explains what you and I are still doing here! ;)
ReplyDeleteLMBO!!!
DeleteYou are RIGHT!!!
That DOES explain everything!!!!
Happy New Year, Lil Dreamer... how have you been??
~shoes~
I listened to/watched all of the songs/vids. What a talent. Each time I watch him I think how sad it was that he left so soon. Of course, one could argue the point that maybe that much talent just can't burn as long we would like. It goes fast and furious. And the impression left is indelible. That is why he will always be known as The King.
ReplyDeleteHi there, Robin... Happy New Year!
DeleteI think what is sad about Elvis is that I don't think he was a particularly savvy guy, and that people took great advantage of him, most notably his manager, Colonel Tom Parker.
I still enjoy watching his 1969 'Comeback' Special. He still had it...
~shoes~
Love so many of his songs.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about time keeps slippin more and more.
Today is my grandsons birthday too. He turned 6.
E
I really loved his older stuff...
DeleteTime seems to be screaming away!!! *cries*
Are you doing ok??
~shoes~
I LOVE Elvis. He was such an amazing musician.
ReplyDeleteHi there, Ana... he really was. I don't think he was much of an introvert!
DeleteI trust all is going well with YOU!!
:o)
~shoes~
Hi there, Shoes! I own all of the guy's records. And I mean ALL of them, including outtakes, first takes, basically each and every take that's on the market. That's right, I'm a Presley fan, which in many people's book stands for freak. But what do they know, right? They hear the name Presley and two things come to mind: fat Elvis and impersonators. I hate impersonators. The only purpose they serve as far as I'm concerned is they show the world how little charisma they have and how much Elvis himself had for, unlike them, those talent-lacking idiots, he kind of got away with wearing those jumpsuits...
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing my uncle Rob cry when he heard Elvis had died. Can't I was too happy myself, but I was 7 at the time and didn't really know much about life and death. I still don't, come to think of it.
#Ain't it funny how time slips away?#
This is one of my favorites: Loving arms
You have a nice day now, my friend.
I don't think being an Elvis Presley fan makes anyone a freak... ok, well, maybe if one shows up at Graceland for Death Week, or Birtday Week, then maybe....
DeleteI saw El-Vez once... the Mezkin Elvis impersonator... he was GREAT!!!
I don't know that much about Life or Death either... it hasn't stopped me from wanting to know, but the gist of it continues to elude me.
I hope you have a great weekend, Grumpy! You are one of the Good Guys!!!
~shoes~
I have such great memories of sitting in front of the TV watching those Elvis movies as a kid.. so jealous of the girl he would fall for.
ReplyDeleteOf course I was only 2 at the time ;) ...
Happy Birthday Elvis ! you were probably my first childhood crush.
I remember liking ALL of the movies when I was little... and it seems that as I got older, I finally started seeing the 'cheese' in them... maybe even to the point where he wasn't enjoying them any more...
DeleteHe was a good one though!
How are YOU doing?
~shoes~
I like to think of Elvis in his old age. I see him as having opened up the Elvis Theatre in Tunica and making it like Branson. You know something classy like the white shag carpeting in Graceland! :)
ReplyDeleteLMBO!!! You know, though, that is something he would have done... he would have some kind of performance hall there in Robinsonville... Hahahahahaha!!!
DeletePoor bastard...
How are things for you today??
~shoes~
I think Elvis left the building at the right time imagine him in the day of the internet. All the scandals he would have to deny!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Bathwater...
DeleteI don't know... he was mighty young when he died... what? 42??
I don't think he had any scandals in his past that could compete with what people today have...
How are you doing??
~shoes~
What bothers me is that all my friends keep getting older. I am constantly forced to make new ones.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, JJ... I KNOW!!! What's up with that??
ReplyDeleteThank God I'm not getting any older... :oD
~shoes~
Did I tell you about the Blue Christmas? The year Elvis died, that Christmas she decorated everything blue. Blue lights, blue garland, blue glass balls... Everything.
ReplyDeleteShe loved Elvis.
She would be my mother. Stream of consciousness.
