"Sunday Ramblings Of A Mad Man..."

I remember once upon a time when I was just a BoyShoes... asking my Mom when it was that we all went to Mount Rushmore...

Mom's reply was that we had never been there... but, I had this great memory of being at a lookout site... standing on top of a brick wall and my arms being draped over some steel restraint bars... just looking at it... I can still remember how chilled the steel pipes felt to my arms... and in my memory, I am just a little boy...

One of my best friends at work is 'K.P'... he is Hindu and I couldn't even start to be able to spell his name correctly... and he knows it... so that's what we all call him... the students call him 'Dr. K.P.'...

K.P. and I have become really close... he tells me I'm enlightened... I tell K.P. he's full of crap... but that doesn't stop him... when he has issues, he tells me that talking to me helps him resolve his problems... I tell him that when the other members of his temple learn that his spirit guide is a reprobate Methodist, he is going to be SO fucked... but that doesn't stop him...

I have learned alot from K.P... and one of his beliefs that interest me is the idea of reincarnation...  What if the memory of my having been at Mount Rushmore is a memory from another life time?  I posted here last September about something I did for my GrandMother Brown...  and in that post, I supposed that I could be a reincarnation of her... and I still believe that...
______________

My Dad had a sister... Aunt Winnie... and she got involved in genealogy and family tree stuff long before it became cool to do so...  Aunt Winnie was always calling... telling us who else it was we were related to... descended from... and evidently living very vicariously through these long deceased family members...

I remember that the phone calls stopped coming... and I asked Mom what was going on? Had Aunt Winnie quit the research???

Mom replied... 'oh... it seems that she found something she wasn't happy about... and decided to lay low for a while...'

WTF?!?!

You can't stop something like that, can you?  I asked Mom what could have been so bad that Aunt Winnie would stop... and Mom said...

It seems that on your Dad's side of the family, you are all direct descendants from Jean Lafitte, the famous/infamous pirate of New Orleans....

No matter that he is credited with helping Andrew Jackson defeat the British there at the Battle of New Orleans...

That carried no weight of redemption for Aunt Winnie...

Personally, I thought it was cool as Hell!!!!

______________

For as long as I can remember, there are three cities in the continental United States that have always  been of great interest to me... they are  New Orleans, LA... Galveston, TX... and San Francisco,  CA...  I had no idea until many years later why these places appealed to me so.  I've visited all of these cities at least twice... and I've always felt so "at home" there... almost too comfortable...

Girl Shoes, who now lives in New Orleans, bought me this cool book one Christmas titled, "The Captains of Lafitte"...  and it covered the history of this pirate before and after the Battle of New Orleans...  Obviously he was in the NOLA area... his base of operations being Barataria Bay...  he was eventually forced out of the New Orleans area... and relocated his operations around... Galveston Bay... hmmmm.... where some historians believe he died in a rather severe hurricane... some historians believe he was killed raiding Spanish vessels... but some historians... say that there is a great amount of evidence to support the idea that he left Galveston and resettled in... San Francisco...  Hmmm... what if I am the reincarnation of...

Nevermind...

  1. i think it'd be fun to have a pirate in the family... it doesn't matter if they raped and plundered half of the continent. i'd still probably think it was pretty damn cool.

  2. I agree, I think it's completely AWESOME you've got some pirate blood in you! You can be as bad ass as you want, and when people question you, you just reply, "Hey, I come by it honestly. My ancestor was a pirate! Argh!!!"

  3. You picked three different kinds of cities there.

  4. Now your getting closer but the question still remains.

Do you see it around you yet? I'll keep quiet now.

  6. I believe in reincarnation too. It's one of those things that can't really be proven and you have to rely on intuition. I think you should try a past life regression. It works for many people.

I live in SF Bay Area. San Francisco is a wonderful city, so you have great taste !

  8. @ Hi there, Jaime... yeah... I thought it was cool... and still do... plundering and raping... hmmm.... hmmmm.... or should I say... 'ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH' :oD

@ Anything Fits... oddly enough, I am caught up in this conundrum of being a perennial 'good boy'... hence my occasional reference to wanting to be more like "Tyler Durden"... so when I do step out of character... like smacking someones ass during sex, I usually end up apologizing for it... (any one have a gun??)

@ Secretia... yeah, three different types of cities in one way... very similar in others.... accessibility to the open seas for one... trading centers for another... great places for a pirate to headquarter himself...

@ 119... Thank you for stopping by... :o)

@ Shelly... yeah... at times the answers are more clear than at other times... sometimes, I get confused... much like a post from the other day... I was picking up 'chaos signals'... knew something was going to happen... but couldn't connect the dots... but something was amiss in my world.

@ Darn Girl... hmmm... a Spanish Princess?? C'mere... :oD BTW... have you heard the reason for why there were so many one-eyed pirates?? Its an amazing story!!

@ Senorita... that's a good idea... past life regression... that could be very interesting... I am interested in things like that... like reincarnation... I think thats the next great frontier... of what we don't really know... Yes, San Francisco is a wonderful city !! I LOVE IT!!! Can't wait to come back out!!

@ JenJen... hey YOU! Made you think?? What about?? Don't leave a guy hanging... ;o)

  10. If you are a reincarnation of him you have been moving up the wheel or is that down, I'm not sure.

  11. @ Bathwater... I'm not sure that we necessarily move up or down in reincarnation... supposedly, based on what I've read, its about improving yourself... and learning lessons that need to be learned... I figure that my message to be learned in this Life time is one of patience... and its really REALLY getting tried... grrrrrrrrrrrr...
