"Cars..."

Hi there...

 long time, no see...

I've just been trying to get health issues, career issues,
and Life issues in order...

Some huge changes could be coming up soon...

The next few months could be interesting...

or not...

Anyway... I've been on a car kick here lately..

Not that I am going to buy one or anything,
but just coming across some neat photos of vehicles...

I never in a million years thought I would
ever be posting THIS song in a blog post...

... anyway...

A colleague and I have often talked about buying Air Stream trailers... hooking them to our vehicles... and start something akin to a Traveling Salvation Show... only it woudl be about economics...

If you don't know what an AirStream trailer is...

Pretty Fukken Cool...
No??

In our business plan, we would travel from university to university... offering classes... Hell... who knows, maybe it would even become a reality show...

How scary would that be??

But... recently... I came across this image...

(get your minds out of the gutter... I didn't mean THAT way...)

How Cool is this?!?!?!?!?!

I like the front of it even better!!!

It definitely has that 'Art Deco' look going for it...

This would really rock for those Road Show Econ Programs!!!

... and then I found THIS!!!!!!

I guess everyone may need a second car...

No?

Once I saw this image, I had a flashback to my Hippy Days...

... and a sound track started to emerge.

I could see myself driving around in this thing listening to...

THIS immediately came to mind!!!

... and I'm not a Grateful Dead fan...

... and then THIS one popped in my head...

Who would have ever guessed that
I was a closet 'Grateful Dead' fan?!?!?!

Anyway... it's good to have a diversion while a great deal of other crap is going on in ones Life...

All in All...

I'm going to be ok...

Tell me what is happening in your world?
(In the mean time, I need to visit some blogs...

    3. No, I have not been there, but maybe in June. I need a vacation as I am very tired. The last year has been rough on me. I may just fly out there by myself..who knows..

  3. My philosophy is ... "Do whatever the hell you want to at this stage in life". The clock keeps ticking so if something comes along that makes me want to jump up and take the bull by the horns, I'm doing it. For me it was moving south, but who knows, something else may strike me on a whim. Be happy Jim. That's all that matters in this life. That and being good to others.

    1. Hi there, Ms Barbara... At this stage in Life, I am developing the same philosophy... my brother's wife told me a while back that I should go ahead... retire... and start doing the traveling I want to do while I am able to.

That has turned out to maybe being quite prophetic...

I try to be good to others... I think that is what sets me apart from a lot of people...

We have become mean as a society... as a world...

      It is sad...

Thank you for your kind words...

  4. I have always loved the idea of jumping in a trailer and heading off with no place in mind and letting the road take me.. wherever. Be even cooler in one of these.. stop by and pick me up on your way by?
    Hope all is well !

    1. Hi there, Flying Solo... I think it would be quite a blast... we all seem to be restricted/bound by some invisible tether that keeps us where we are... or keeps us "safe"... whatever that means.

Of course, we feel safe when we are in a known environment... so there is something to be said for that...

The past few years has shown me that there has been nothing safe or secure about my known environment...

Stop by and pick you up? Sure!!

  5. Well, what do ya know... Shoesssssssssss is back! Being the narcissist that my ex thinks I am, I thought you'd had enough of my funky blues.

Just kidding. Hey, you're back. Good. All of us are still waiting for you to tell umm us what kinda fruit you would be. What do you mean, 'What'? HERE of course. Hello! And it had better not be a sour grape. A banana?

I have a humongus case of FUKKETTE... I hate to say it, but I just really don't care... I need to to get re-focused... I love my students... but I have lost that "lovin' feelin' "... ifn you know what I mean...

      What fruit?

      That requires some thought...

      No?

      How are you, my friend??

    2. You don't care? We need to talk, sir. How am I doing? Well, I m still exhausted 24/7, the world keeps a-tremblin' and I there's this annoying sound - SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH - that just won't go away. Other than that, I'm good. My students still love me, my colleagues still don't, and the pay is still not impressive.

You need to care again, Shoes.

  6. I saw the Dead about 6 times live back in my college days! Saw them with Bob Dylan and Tom Petty at RFK, a few times in Hampton, and a few other places. My all time favorite Dead song is Cassidy.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aMBIeD0ThU

The song is dedicated to the daughter of a friend of Bob Weir but it alludes to Neal Cassidy who was a prominent figure in Jack Kerouac's novel On the Road. Sounds like you need to have another On the Road experience.

    1. Hi there, Ryan... I have NEVER seen the Dead... I tried to one summer, but just could never get the tickets...

That is a great song... I am not familiar with it... and very tight!!

"On The Road" experiences are my salvation!!!

  7. Love the lyrics:

    Faring thee well now.
Let your life proceed by it's own design.
    Nothing to tell now.
Let the words be yours, I'm done with mine.

  10. SHOES! I absolutely LOVE the airstream! And that one after is awesome. There's a bloke in London who had an airstream craned into his back garden and turned it into a cocktail bar! Cool or flipping' what?
I think that travelling from uni to uni in one of those is a fabulous idea! Go for it!
