"No, It Just Can't Be..."

Wow…

Guess who would have been 69 today!?!?!?!

I hope you watched that video and turned the sound WAY up… What a voice she had!  What a set of pipes!!

The guitarists are playing Fender Telecasters... I SO wanted one of the paisley models that they came out with...

ARGH!!!!

You could SO rock, Janis... you've been gone WAY too long!!!

  1. I watched this video and then went looking for "Get it While You Can," which is playing in the background as I write this. Amazing voice, and so much heart. Gone too long, indeed.

    1. Where did those days go?!?!?

I liked her work with "Big Brother..." Critics didn't seem to care that much for it. "Cheap Thrills," in my opinion, was one of the best albums ever... fantastic art work on the cover.

  2. I followed your instructions and "What a set of pipes!!" is putting it mildly! I totally love what's written underneath the b&w pic of her.

P.S. Hope you're doing well these days.

    1. Hey you! She could really sing... I also liked her cover of Kris Kristofferson's "Me And Bobby McGee..."

I think I am guilty of trying to make everything "perfect," which, of course, is a recipe for total failure. I am guilty of trying to make Life way too easy, I fear.

I will figure it out one of these days.

  3. I played it damn loud to drown out the sound of the local idiots shootin off the mouths into their beers outside my apartment window. How the hell is anyone supposed to sleep through this racket? Where or where is the "livin' easy"?

Where ever it is....I missed it.

    1. Hey, Annie... I don't know. I remember writing once upon a time about a journal entry I had made where I was trying to figure out if Life was easy, and I was over complicating it, or if Life is complicated, and I'm trying to over-simplify it...

I dunno, although, it was pointed out to me today, that maybe I do try to simplify Life...

I'm sorry about the boors out front shooting off their mouths... there seems to be way too much of that these days...

Where, oh where, is the "livin' easy?"

Out there somewhere.... *points 'out there'*

      We'll find it some day.

  5. There will never be another Janis. She was amazing. She and Grace were my idols back in the day. And yes, she went far to soon.

    (Hope you're doing better.)

    1. Oh, man... wasn't Grace Slick and "Jefferson Airplane" the shiznits?!?!?!

I think I'm either better, or just getting acclimated to things. My blood pressure is back up, even though I am on medication for it... there's been some stressors...

In the long run, we are all ok...

      Have a great weekend...

  7. I'm truly sad she died so young. But imagining Janis at 69? Not a good thought. Unless she found Jesus and AA in which case she would be singing church hymns. Also not a good thought.

  8. Does time fly or what, Shoes? It's merciless, really. I remember listening to her songs when I myself was just a little boy. Now I'm told I'm a DINOSAUR. Go figure... 69.
