"Guitar Face..."

If you enjoy a good rock, blues or jazz guitarist... then you have seen your share of...

Guitar face...

Joe Walsh has GREAT guitar face!!!!
1.guitar face  -

The act of making an unusual face while playing the guitar. The look typically resembles a look of pain, intense ecstacy, or sometimes even plain old gas.
Man, that solo was sweet but he had total guitar face going on.

2.guitar face -
A face that a guitar player makes when reaching the climax of a solo.
John Mayer has some crazy guitar face.

3.guitar face -
A look of pain and pleasure when playing the guitar. This face can also be decribed when two are having sex.
(01) Dude look at John Mayer's guitar face

(02) Girl: *during sex* What the hell is that?

      Guy: Guitar face
Orgasm face... or is it??

Young B. B. King Guitar Face...

Jack Casady Bass Guitar Face...

SRV Guitar Face...
Keith Richards Guitar Face...

  1. Now I know why I've never played the guitar, I refuse to look ridiculous :-)

  2. They ARE just in the moment... When jack Casady plays, he not only gets this great 'bass face,' but he also gets some crazy body movement stuff going on... He is quite melodic when he plays.

Did you think that Robin Trower looked like Mr. Magoo???

That last fellow looks like a head shot of a hippopotamus...

  4. Now I am afraid to look in the mirror when I play. Thank goodness there IS no mirror where I play.

  8. ahahahaha - my daddy, the guitarist, has the most hilarious guitar face ever, and also steadfastly refuses to admit he has one. he's even watched footage of his performances, as he MAKES GUITAR FACES, and denied it. so hilarious...

  9. I just watched a video the other night on You Tube and it was Tom Petty, Eric Clapton (I think) and Prince. You have to see this video I never realized Prince could play like that ...he just shut Tom Petty down. I'll try to find it for you.

  12. @Heff... Ace giving good 'face' is a good thing... I hope he isn't known for giving good 'head'... ;o)

@ Jon... sometimes we are probably better off NOT knowing what we look like when we play!

@ Wine and Words... LMAO @ Bitter Beer... yeah, God, I had forgotten about THAT one!

@ KittyCat... Angus is quite the rocker, unlike his brother, Malcom, that just stands back and rocks...

@ Leah... I promise that they are painless... They just kinda happen when one gets into the moment... ;o)

@ Magnolia.. LMAO @ your Dad... you know how that is! We never know how others see us! Of course, if we are doing something amazing when the faces happen, all seems to be forgiven!!

@ Carol.. I saw that clip. You posted it on your blog! That is an amazing clip. Prince had guitar faces all OVER the place!!!

@ Gobbles... Really? I've never seen you play... You need to send photos or something of you playing your guitar. ;o)

@ That Darn Girl... Really? I've never seen you play... You need to send photos or something of you playing your "guitar." ;o)

@ Jessica... Yep... it IS true!!

I've been told that when I play, I sometimes bite my bottom lip... and I've also been told that sometimes when I get into laying down a bass line, I start head bobbing... That sounds skeery...
